Villetta Trattoria is proud to have been established for 27 years with Mediterranean cuisine.
At 43, he is therefore assisted in this adventure by his 69-year-old mother, born in the Campania region, a region in southwestern Italy known for its ancient ruins and its spectacular coastline. Its capital? Naples, well known for its s pizzas. John, meanwhile, was born in Montreal, but his accent does not deceive his origins. And like any self-respecting Italian, he carries cooking and gastronomy in his heart. “I love Italian sauces, such as rosée sauce, marinara or even pesto,” explains the manager.
Moreover, in its establishment, they are all homemade, like the gnocchi, the ricotta-spinach manicottis or the famous tiramisu. “There are people who come expressly from Terrebonne to taste our delicious tiramisu,” he says. Another dolci that it Is impossible not to taste at John: the tartufo al Cioccolato (Italian ice cream) or the torte di casa, a cake with ice cream and praline.
Dedication and Flavor
The Villetta Trattoria has been operating in the Saint-Laurent sector for 27 years already. And from the start, it’s been run by the same family.
Today, John took over the reins of the establishment with his mother, a real Italian mama. Initially, it was his uncle Gino Rapone who owned it. Very young, John wanders in the kitchens of the restaurant, first working in diving. Today, after making a brief career in a bank, then studying cooking, he returned to Villetta Trattoria as a chef, host, waiter, manager… A real multi- task.
